This morning I decided to begin a new blog and I want to share how and why this came about. I was automatic writing yesterday, something I may blog about more in the future, and I was channeling with AA Michael as I wanted to ask more about my purpose in life. I know change is coming and to be honest it cannot come soon enough for me, but I am feeling confused as in which direction I should take the first step. Needless to say, AA Michael suggested that I continue my writing, he said it doesn’t matter at this point, what you write about, just write.
That’s all very interesting and sounds pretty easy, but I really wasn’t sure what I actually wanted to write about. You see I have two blogs already, but I have not been updating either of them regularly. Michael went on to say that it doesn’t matter if it is a paragraph or a sentence, just get back into the habit of writing/communicating on a regular basis. Always trusting guidance from the Devine, again another subject for later topics, I thought what can it hurt. I love to write and have about 20 full journals and have no problem whatsoever writing in my journal. But journals, of course, are more about private matters, releasing thoughts, dreams, wishes and a way to unburden your problems. Not something that really should be shared for public scrutiny.
Anyway, I decided to make a fresh start on a brand new blog and to make my first entry about how it came about and how I chose the title. While I was automatic writing AA Michael also told me that I would see a spiral by the end of the year, which will confirm that I am on the right path. I am making a note of that reference here as a great way to remind myself of what AA Michael said and I will definitely let everyone know if in fact I do see a spiral before the year is out.
As I was sitting here contemplating on a new name for this blog, I thought I would put the question out to the Devine for their input as I was coming up blank. I asked AA Michael what a good name would be and he drew a spiral. I asked if he would write the word for me, as I was not sure if he was actually meaning me to call my blog ‘spiral’, but he still kept drawing one. So I put in “spiral” for the name of my blog and of course it was already taken. I wasn’t too upset about it as I can’t say that name was really resonating with me, so I decided to look up what the word spiral means, to see if I could come up with an alternative. Well this is where everything came together for me. My search resulted in finding a website called www.whats-your-sign.com and this is what I read:
A few spiral meaning keywords to start our spin around spiral symbolism will include attributes such as: Balance, Progress, Direction, Initiation, Centering, Expanding, Awareness, Connection, Journeying, Development.
Perhaps it’s most prolific appearance is in Celtic symbology where we see the spirals decorating a myriad of their ancient artifacts. In Celtic art and symbolism, we can intuit a few meanings from the forcefully present spiral:
- Evolution and holistic growth
- Letting go, surrender, release
- Awareness of the one within the context of the whole
- Connectivity and union with deific and cosmic energies
- Revolutions of time, stars, planets and the way of natural progress
I particularly like this last “connectivity to the Divine” observation. Indeed, I think ancient Celtic artists used the spiral symbol as a mind-altering creative process in which the act of creating a spiral in their work released their minds into a creative splendor. Perhaps that’s why we see them dominate the Celtic world; out of a strong desire to step outside the physical and enter a gossamer domain where dreams and intuition take hold of awareness.
Try it for yourself! Paint your own spirals. Draw spirals. Make spiral symbol mosaics. Use any media that appeals to you to create spirals, and as you do, imagine the controls of your mind loosening with each outward wave created as you move out in a spiral motion of your creation.
This exercise is similar to coloring mandalas. The idea is to get lost in the grandeur of creating. The mandala or spiral symbol is a partner in creation and can launch our dreaming mind into profound realms of awareness.
You can get your whole body into the spiraling creative process. Walk a spiralling labyrinth as a conscious ritual for growth, just like some of our Native American forebears did (and still do). Dance in spinning spirals, just like the Whirling Dervishes do (whose dance is symbolic of the cosmic dance of the universe). Find ways to express the spiral meaning with your whole being, the results should prove profound.
Speaking of the dance of the universe, in astrology, the spiral meaning sparkles with an understanding of a universe in constant motion. And, as science can attest, our universe spirals out infinitely, thus reinforcing the concept of our endless skies.
In terms of spirituality, the spiral symbol can represent the path leading from outer consciousness (materialism, external awareness, ego, outward perception) to the inner soul (enlightenment, unseen essence, nirvana, cosmic awareness). Movements between the inner (intuitive, intangible) world and the outer (matter, manifested) world are mapped by the spiraling of archetypal rings; marking the evolution of humankind on both an individual and collective scale.
Moreover, in terms of rebirth or growth, the spiral symbol can represent the consciousness of nature beginning from the core or center and thus expanding outwardly. This is the way of all things, as recognized by most mystics.
The reference to “endless skies” resonated with me instantly as a great name to use for this blog. Why? Because the spiral is never ending, as are our possibilities in life. I loved it and guess what, it was available. I know that I have spelled it Endless Skys, but again that was the way that felt right for me. So let’s see how everything unravels from this moment forward.
Please check out the website mentioned above as it contains some very interesting information.
I will be importing all my posts from my other blogs celestial-friends and FYI-Amigo, but today is the beginning of the first step towards a new journey….where ever it may lead :). I welcome anyone and everyone to make any comments, or if you wish to contact me directly please do, I would love to hear from you.
