Weekly Photo Challenge – Future

Tags :

When I was thinking about the future for this week’s challenge, for some odd reason I thought of the saying ‘when my ship comes in’. If your ship has come in, it means something very good has happened to you. I believe it’s origin is based on an old sea merchant term, when you used to pay

Weekly Photo Challenge – On The Move

Tags :

When I thought of this week’s theme the first thing that sprang to mind was Venice.  A small city where you get around by a Water Bus, Water Taxi and Pedestrian Walkways.  For those romantic evenings being on the move by Gondola, with or without a singing gondolier, is definitely the way to go. Weekly Photo Challenge – Perspective

What a great challenge this week… perspective. The beauty of photography is being able to capture and create different perspectives of the world; to show things in a different light. The above is not a great work of art, or photography for that matter (smiling), but it demonstrates how you could mistake this photo for

Travel Theme (Pathways)

The above theme reminded me of a great holiday that I enjoyed with my children in Cuba. I am not going to say that they are the most inspiring photos, but they hold the greatest of memories. These pathways are the ones we travelled over and over for the time we were there,  they led

Shade On The Beach

Tags :

This photo was taken on the beach at Varadero, Cuba. It was an exceptionally hot day as we went in August, so if you weren’t in the water, you needed to be in the shade. It was a beautiful beach and if you look in the background you will see the beach bar hiding in the bushes.

THE SNOW MELTS – one drop at a time

Tags :

We had a really bad winter storm here a couple of days ago which gave us at least a foot of snow. The following day the sun was shining so it was a little warmer and, as I looked out of my living-room window, dripping water caught my attention. It was quite fascinating to watch,
