Weekly Photo challenge – Cover Art
This week’s Photo Challenge is about creating the cover for an album, book, show or magazine which best represents the contents.
The artwork above was inspired by my life on the road as a sales person so hence I felt it would be a good fit for a book called the “The Travelling Salesman”. I am assuming there must be one out there somewhere!
Being on the road all the time comes with many challenges from traffic, weather to just simply being away from home and family. Your car is not only your transport but it’s your place of work, so you become reluctantly reliant and somewhat attached to it. You find yourself having a conversation with your GPS just to alleviate the boredom on long trips. I know some people think it is a glamorous lifestyle, but living out of suitcase and hotel hopping is really not a lot of fun when it’s your life!
I quit this lifestyle almost two years ago to follow my passion for art and I have to say I have no desire to go back to it.
Join in the fun….here are some other great contributions:

October 28, 2014at 10:53 pmBeautiful image, Pennie! And I love the meaning behind it being a traveling salesperson, and the companionship one must feel with their mode of transportation 🙂 As we graduated college, one of my dear friends had a job traveling every third week – one week prepping/researching, one week traveling, one week analyzing results/reporting. She listened to lots of audiobooks, way before GPS was around! And you’re right about it sounding lots more glamorous than it turned out to be!

November 3, 2014at 9:39 amHi Connie, thank you for your comment. I have spent over 20 years on the road and remember the days of listening to audio books too :). The only things was I found they relaxed me and made me want to go to sleep….LOL!
