I have to be honest I am more of a night owl, but when I was visiting Newquay, Devon with my mum and dad I did grab my camera and head off to the beach at around 7:00 a.m. There were only two other people who had the same idea, which was nice, as it was usually hopping by the time the sun came up.
I know it is very difficult to make out so I have included a cropped close-up shot below, but there is a message in the sand that says “Amber Loves Grandad”, which must have been written later the night before. It was nice to capture it, as it was only going to exist for a little while longer, soon to be erased by hundreds of footprints and the incoming tide. I hope her Grandpa saw it.
It’s great that you were able to visit beach early. Maybe you have another photo? This one doesn’t stir up any emotions. It’s too plain, like trying to catch too many things at once.
Cheers.
Thank you for your comment Kama. It was wonderful to visit the beach early and yes I do have many other photos, but this one portrayed what “early” meant to me. The only emotion being felt was that of peace and serenity and that feeling of being alone. The sun wasn’t even up and from where I was standing I could see the message in the sand. Had I not been there at that time, it would have been gone.
Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to comment :).
