Aligning Who You Are With What You Do!

I became a senior citizen this year, and as I reflect on the evolution of my life, I’ve realized — not for the first time — just how much I’ve changed over the years. Nothing surprising there; most of you would probably agree it’s simply the natural progression of things. As we age, the things we used to love, the ways we used to be, either no longer appeal to us or just don’t matter the way they once did. Sometimes aging limits us physically or mentally, but what I’m talking about here are the changes we make by choice.

So where am I going with this? What I’m trying to say is that no matter how much we evolve, the authentic part of our being — our honest, true self — doesn’t really change. There is always a part of me, my inner being, that feels the same no matter what. A part of me I recognize instantly, that makes me feel like me.

As we move through life, that inner being expands and deepens, but the essence of who we are remains constant. We may express ourselves differently, shift our priorities, change our lifestyle, but it’s all driven by the same engine…that part of us that makes us who we truly are, who we were meant to be.

It sounds a bit complex, and honestly, it is. When we look at ourselves and acknowledge how much we’ve changed, we’re usually comparing our current choices to the choices we made in the past. There are countless reasons we make these changes — it’s all part of living. But when I take a long, honest look at who I am today, I know it’s the Divine part of me, my soul, that remains constant. That’s the real me I connect with. Everything else is simply built around it as part of the human experience.

Why am I talking about this? I suppose it’s because lately I’ve been struggling to align who I know I am with the human journey I’m on. Over the last while, it has become clearer to me who I am spiritually, and why we — you, me, all of us — are here on Earth in this new energy. But defining the path I want to walk — to be able to express that — has been more challenging than I expected. I know that when you’re consciously connected to your higher self, this shouldn’t feel so complicated, at least that’s how i understand it. Hence…this post.

I find myself wanting to write and I’m an artist and designer, yet lately my enthusiasm for creating has been fading. So while I write about my own inner battle, I’m hoping for an aha moment — a spark, an idea, a direction — something that shows me the right way forward. How I can help humanity in some way, help Gaia, and hopefully contribute to peace and harmony on Earth.

If any of this resonates with you, please comment below. I’d love to know…how goes the battle.
