My name is Pennie and I would like to welcome you to Endless Skys. I know that ‘Skys’ is technically not spelled correctly, but when the name came to me spelling it Skies just didn’t feel right; I didn’t resonate with it. For the full story of how Endless Skys came about here is my very first blog post that explains it all. I am delighted that you are here and I hope you find something of interest. New artwork, tarot cards and product designs are added regularly.

I was born and raised in England but I emigrated to Canada many years ago and currently reside in London, Ontario. In April 2013, I finally quit the corporate world to focus on my creative side and to learn more about myself through words and pictures. I honestly had no idea if I had a creative bone in my body, but I knew it was time for drastic change. Now I simply let my life unfold, going with the flow of wherever my new journey is taking me, one day at a time.

I am completely self-taught in all aspects of the art world, from learning to navigate my way around a camera, to the on-going pursuit of developing my skills learning new creative digital software. Add to that running an online business, creating my own website and becoming a wholesaler, life has been an interesting learning curve for sure.  A few years ago during an interview I was asked about what and why I do what I do as an artist, and as it explains a lot about me, here are my answers.

What am I working on at the moment?

I am working on different projects all the time. As a photographic artist I am always creating something, even if it’s in my mind before I actually get it out into print. I love it when a piece I have created fits with the WordPress Weekly Photo Challenges (no longer in existence), but it can work the other way round too. Sometimes I find a photo challenge will inspire a piece of art as well!

The newest thing I am doing is actually designing my own oracle deck and redesigning historic tarot decks.. All great fun!

How does my work differ from others of it’s genre?

Everyone has their own creative style whether it’s writing, photography or art. That’s what I love the most about art, it is very subjective and personal. What makes my work differ from others…that’s hard to say as I don’t have a particular style. I don’t like to be shoe-boxed into any one type of thing. I love heading off in new directions, learning new things and not limiting myself in any way. Most artists strive to be identified by their particular style of creating, so because I don’t, maybe that’s what makes me different.

Why do I write/create what I do?

Because I love it!

How does my writing/creating process work?

I have various ways of doing things. For most of my work though I have an idea, I take a photograph or create a photo compilation as the essence of the project. I then use a variety of different processing/painting/creative techniques to come up with the finished piece. I never know what the end result will look like. I just know it when it’s done. Quite often the finished work has no physical elements of the original photograph left in it at all….go figure!

I enjoy bringing history back to life so you will find remastered vintage images and new designs of very old historic tarot decks among my creations. I do not sell facsimiles of tarot decks available in the public domain, nor decks that are for sale on AliExpress. My decks are all originals and only available from my website or my Etsy store. My harmonious deck was available for sale for Japanese customers sold by a Japanese game company.

My blog posts are more visual, usually related to a recent piece of art or new tarot deck, or just recently I have been including information on vintage/retro items that are for sale in my Etsy Vintage store. I prefer to keep my posts light-hearted and fun, but I really do try to make them informative as well. I also write fiction & poetry when the mood takes me!

My artwork is available in many different formats i.e. canvas, acrylic, metal, framed, prints, home décor, tech, tote bags, mugs and greeting cards etc., plus they all come with a 30-day money back guarantee! So if you are looking for something original you may like to check out my gallery. If you are a creative or appreciate the arts, I hope you find some of my work interesting or personally resonate with it. I love custom requests to make changes to a current piece of art to create the perfect image that you are looking for. If I am able to accommodate you I will.

Please reach out to me if you have any questions at all, I love hearing from my visitors.

Enjoy each day, it is a gift!
