This is my Original Oracle deck which has 72 cards and is available in two sizes, Large (3.5″ x 5.75″) or the usual Tarot (2.75″ x 4.75″). They are printed on 300gsm superior smooth casino cardstock and come packaged in a plain white tuck box. As cards have to be printed in sheets, with the tarot deck size, you will also receive 4 blank cards that you can personalize.
I got my first tarot deck 33 years ago and still have that same deck today. It takes a lot of time and practice to learn the meanings of the tarot and how to interpret them, so my goal was to create a deck that is easy for anyone to use. Each card has the meaning written, easy to read, right on the front so you won’t need to look up the meanings, you just need to practice reading them in conjunction with the other cards in the spread and depending on which spread you use, in relation to the position in a spread.
If you are a novice you can practice with a simple three card spread to answer questions and provide guidance. With any card deck you need to use your own intuition to interpret what they are saying. This becomes automatic with practice. The more you use your deck the more in tune you will become with them and they with you and the way you read them.
Experience has taught me that there are main topics of interest that people always ask about, these are Relationships, Health, Family, Finances, Communication and Career. Plus there are five other categories that often come up in readings that I feel are important and they are Balance, Change, Emotions, Action and Life Purpose. Therefore I have included cards with just these themes on them which you can use either separately before a reading for the overall theme or keep them as part of the deck to interpret them as part of the spread.
Along with these eleven theme cards there are sixty-one guidance cards which tell the story. Their meanings are clearly visible and the images can provide you with additional intuitive messages in their details. With each reading you may notice something different or some detail or colour that stands out to you that is relevant to your reading at that time. All the artwork included was designed and created by me and if you like any of the images most of them are available for sale in my gallery. To see a gallery the complete deck click here and see if you resonate with them.
There is no booklet with this deck. As far as using the cards in a spread, if you go online you can find many examples of different spreads and their meanings that you can use, or design your own spread, one that resonates with you. If you are beginner, once you get a feel for the deck you can use the cards in both the upright and reversed position. When a card is reversed its meaning is either the opposite of the upright or its meaning is weakened. Your intuition will guide you as to the best interpretation, trust it. I start a reading with all the cards in an upright position, when I have shuffled the cards I split them into five or six separate piles. I then reverse one of the piles and reshuffle the deck before I pull the cards for the reading.
I offer a selection of designs for the back cover of this deck, if you go to Tarot Card Back Designs you are more than welcome to select one of these. Please include the name of the design you would like in the space provided when you place your order. If no custom back is chosen your deck will be printed with the standard back shown in the gallery.
