Cassette tapes really are a thing of the past. I know you could say the same thing about LPs, but many people still have a record deck and play albums on a regular basis. I am one of those people. Honestly though, I have no idea if the same applies for cassettes. I had a tape deck many years ago, as part of my music system, but unfortunately when it stopped working, it wasn’t something I was prepared to invest in to have fixed. Perhaps many of the die-hard vinyl lovers do have tape decks that are still working and would enjoy listening to old cassettes as well, who knows.
Anyway, I found this amazing cassette collection “The Magic of Vienna” in an old thrift store the other day and was surprised to find that the cassettes have never been opened. This collection was manufactured in 1992 so these cassettes have stayed ‘brand new’ for 20 years. I find that amazing to say the least. On the flip side of that though it also means that they have never been listened too and enjoyed. How sad is that!
I love listening to my classical music albums, especially when I am working on a piece of art, so I have added this collection to my Vintage Store on Etsy.
The fact that this collection has never been opened, makes it a rare find, and perfect for the collector of 1990s memorabilia. It would look great on display, but it would also be marvelous if someone bought these to play them for the very first time!
