I took these photos last week as the setting sun was so big and beautiful, I sat outside and watched it until it disappeared out of sight. Imagine my joy when I found out what this week’s photo challenge was so I could share them with you.
This week’s Photo Challenge from the Daily Post is the Golden Hour.

Isn’t it great when you’ve just taken the perfect picture/s for the weekly challenge? The sun looks as if it’s setting into a vast lake. Beautiful.

Thank you Janet, and yes you’re right it did make me smile when I realized I had the perfect photo for this week’s challenge. You’re photo was beautiful even though you couldn’t appreciate it at the time. I wish your friend all the best.
Thanks a lot. I took the photo before all this happened so I was able to appreciate it for what is was on its own. But it seemed an apt metaphor for what she was going through as well.

I like those wispy streaks across the sun.
Thanks Kongo and I have to agree with you. I see the sunset from my balcony all the time, but this time it was different.
There is nothing that could be improved on these pictures. Sigh … Perfection makes me feel small. 😉
Thank you Franhunne. I loved your photo too over the Cotswolds.
I thought your photo was exceptional, right down to the rust spots on the roof. I felt the words of the poem complimented it and take anything away from your photo at all. I am thrilled you are joining in with the challenges and I hope you continue to do so as I am following you :). Have a wonderful day.
You are very generous to like my snapshot. I would not dare to compare it with your art. I added the Blake-poem for distraction 😉 hoping some of the beauty of the words would rub off on my photo, which is nothing but, let’s face it, a rather mediocre snapshot. I usually add my photos before I watch the other entries – or I would never join in.
Awesome!
Thank you Madelaine 🙂
Beautiful pictures. Like tucking the sun in for the night! 🙂
Thank you Linda and I love that description 🙂
Nice shots! lucky you; not for the sky nor the sun, but for the large-thin-dark clouds on its way. Just the decisive momment!
I agree totally Jaime, and funnily enough I have just posted a comment on your blog!
Gorgeous pics! Many thanks for the ping back 🙂
You’re welcome Eclipse and thank you . I especially liked your first shot where you can just glimpse the sun going down through the trees.
great pictures! 🙂
Thank you 🙂
